We built Rhize because we'd each spent years watching agencies overpromise, underdeliver, and leave clients with tools they couldn't use. We knew what a real partner looked like — and we weren't seeing it anywhere.
The Story
Jim was running his own agency — building websites, driving SEO results, doing the technical work most marketers outsource and don't understand. Tom was running his own shop on the marketing side — strategy, CRM automation, and implementing AI into business operations before most agencies knew what to call it.
They started collaborating on projects. It worked. They kept doing it, for about a year, until it became obvious this was something worth building properly.
The decision to go all-in came from a shared frustration: AI was making it easier than ever to produce mediocre work at scale. Generic content. Cookie-cutter strategies. Automated deliverables with no human judgment behind them. Clients were paying agency rates for AI slop — and most of them didn't even know it.
Rhize is the answer to that. Two people with complementary skill sets, a shared intolerance for AI slop dressed up as strategy, and no interest in building another agency that treats clients as transactions.

Tom's background is in marketing strategy, CRM automation, and AI implementation. He focuses on making sure what gets built connects to revenue — and that clients actually know how to use it after he's done. He's the person in the room who asks “what does this do for the business?” before anything ships.
Jim Deola
Co-Founder — Development, AI & SEO
Jim is a full-stack developer who builds high-performance websites, custom AI solutions, and data pipelines that tie directly into business operations. He pairs deep SEO expertise with hands-on AI implementation — from intelligent automation workflows to production-grade integrations that actually work. No templates, no shortcuts. When Jim builds something, it's built to last, built to rank, and built to scale.

We use AI to move faster and go deeper. But we don't sell AI as the outcome, and we don't let it replace the thinking. Strategy, quality, and accountability still require a human in the loop.

The name Rhize comes from rhizome — the underground root system where plants grow laterally, interconnected rather than top-down. It's how we think about building businesses that last.
